Bedok Reservoir was first announced in 1980, an important part of Singapore water supply scheme. It was previously a sand quarry. The project started in 1983, and completed in June 1985.
Bedok Reservoir is now open to various water sports activities. Some of the activities are sailing, wakeboarding, Forest Adventure fishing, kayaking and canoeing. This are the effort made by Singapore Sports Council’s (SSC’s) to encourage as well as bring up the vibrant of life in the east of Singapore.
Students who are studying in Temasek Polytechnic usually will hang out in Bedok Reservoir, sometime for school activities.
Residents of Parc Central Residences can find it a joy to have a jog around the reservoir, morning workout or even water sport at their leisure.
